AI Assistant & Templates

Building a Document Type from scratch, field by field, works well - but there are two faster starting points available from the Document Type Details card.

Load Template​

Click Load Template to see a list of predefined Document Types made available to your organisation. Selecting one instantly replaces the current form - name, description, identifier settings, and every field - with that template's configuration, which you can then adjust to your needs.

caution

Loading a template overwrites whatever you've already entered in the editor. Load a template first, before making your own edits, to avoid losing work.

AI Assistant​

The AI Assistant is currently only available to platform administrators.

Rather than defining fields by hand, you can let the platform propose a starting configuration by analysing an example document:

  1. Click the sparkle AI Assistant button in the Document Type Details card.
  2. Drag in (or browse for) a representative sample of the kind of document you want this type to handle. Images, PDFs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and text files are all accepted.
  3. Click Generate. The assistant analyses the sample and proposes a name, description, identifier configuration, and a full set of fields.
  4. Review and adjust the generated result exactly as you would a manually built Document Type - nothing is final until you click Save Changes.
tip

The AI Assistant gives you a strong starting point, not a finished product. Always review the suggested fields - check that required/optional flags make sense, that Catalog fields point at the right catalogue, and that field descriptions accurately describe what should be extracted.
